Be a Stat! Please complete these LGBT Brighton surveys

You help and feedback is needed.

Here at Zhoosh we have been asked by various organisations in the last couple of months if we can help promote their surveys for them. Fundamentally, there’s not enough data on the LGBT community in Brighton & Hove, not when a few individuals or organisations are trying to get change or improvements to current services in the city, but haven’t the stats to prove it necessary, plus many organisations are fighting to keep their LGBT specific services funded. but have to prove there is a need to do so.

Very often there is only a small window of opportunity due to funding – so it’s important to act now – be a stat and give your experiences and feedback.

As part of Sussex Police’s response to the Equality Act 2010, they have developed a survey so that different communities can tell them what they would like to see as Equality Objectives. The equality objectives will be published in the 2012 Local Policing Plan, rather than the Force maintaining a separate Equality Scheme, thus integrating it within their work. You can start this survey here:  http://www.sussex.police.uk/about-us/consultation-and-engagement/equality-objectives-survey

 HIP: Suicide Distress Survey

HIP project logo

This survey is for LGB&T people who live, work or socialise in Brighton and Hove. What do you think would help LGB&T people who experience suicidal distress and what would help prevent it before it happens. HIP would like to know what you have found helpful, what is missing and what more the LGB&T community could be doing. HIP understand “suicidal distress” to mean feelings such as despair, worthlessness and hopelessness so that the person feels that they want to end their life. Register with HIP – the Health Involvement Project

This project has been set up in Brighton with funding from the PCT (Brighton & Hove City Council NHS money fundamentally!) called the LGBT Health Involvement Project (LGBT HIP) to get feedback, opinions and experiences from lesbian, gay, bisexual and trans (LGB&T) people about local health and wellbeing services in Brighton and Hove.

They need us to tell them what we need and want and are encouraging EVERY person on the LGBT rainbow spectrum to sign up to their site. Over the coming months you will then be invited to complete short surveys. Your feedback and data will be kept in accordance with data protection and securely stored.
