Will social media help against hate crime?
There’s been a bit of a sniffy attitude in the press towards the possibility of reporting crime on Facebook/Twitter, but I think this could be a real opportunity for us to report things as and when they happen and could also help the police build a picture of where there might be areas of concern.
Update on Terrence Higgins Trust HIV Brighton Services.
June 2011 has marked the 30th Anniversary of the AIDS epidemic. So much has changed from those early days when volunteers like Father Marcus opened up his kitchen for those affected by HIV. There is still a need for emotional support for those newly diagnosed and to others living with HIV for a number of years, here I update, discuss and overview all the groups and services at THT Brighton and Eastbourne.
It Gets Better Project.
Since its launch on September 2010, there has been an amazing response from the LGBT community uploading viral videos with the main purpose of saying “It gets better.” The basic message for those who are feeling afraid and alone, “Whatever you’re experiencing now, be it family rejection, bullying and harassment in schools or even thoughts of suicide, it gets better.”

ZH: Do you have anything you’d like to say to your lovely fans?
GM: We are so lucky to have the loyal fan base that we do, and it seems to just keep growing. We would like to thank everyone for sticking with us, as long as we have fans who want to listen to what we are doing then we will keep on playing.
Who’s afraid of camping it up? Me. Only one person can help.
So next weekend I am going to the GoGo Festival to see two things I love in life; women and music…I just have to get over my fear of camping. I know, I’m a lesbian who doesn’t like camping. BUT from viewing the GoGo festival website the team at GoGo have made it very easy [...]
You. Utter. Bastard.
The lies which make up THIS blog breed doubt in any others of similar nature. The next time we read an apparently earnest, heartfelt cry for help from an LGBTQ person in such a regime, we will hesitate and wonder. And apathy will be more likely.
Apathy, the enemy of any advances in these states.
AMiTY and GoGo Festival
Brighton based AMiTY has toured the UK and Ireland, playing Brighton Pride last year. Zhoosh was lucky enough to have a chat with her and ask a few questions about her music, GoGo Festival and her plans for the rest of the year. ZH: Hi AMiTY! AM: Hello Zhoosh.. ZH: Right, lets get straight to [...]
