The Women’s Performance Tent @ Brighton Pride 2010 Saturday 7th August at Preston Park, Brighton
For the past 10 years a committed team of Brighton Women’s Centre volunteers have produced a successful women’s performance space that has grown from a small gazebo with no stage, a tiny sound system and a handful of onlookers to a large tent with a 6k sound system and a capacity crowd.
The Women’s Performance Tent @ Brighton Pride provides a crucial platform for women performers from the LGBT communities, a safe space and wide variety of volunteering activities for women of all ages, backgrounds and cultures, and an opportunity to experience professionally produced, top quality entertainment from their peers and role-models.
Invite to volunteers
As the Women’s Performance Tent @ Brighton Pride grows in popularity, more volunteers are invited to help Brighton Women’s Centre (BWC) organise this successful, satisfying Summer Pride event. If you would like to help at the tent by offering security, decorating, stage management, catering or other practical skills, or are happy to support other volunteers, please contact BWC drop-in manager Sue Shaw on 01273-698036 or sueshaw@womenscentre.org.uk

From 5.30pm we get ready to rock with killer live band Kenelis, vaudeville punk from Voodoo Hussy (fronted by Big Brother’s Shabby) and back by popular demand, the electronic soul of Heads.Hearts to get everyone dancing. Lesbian feel-good favourites Greymatter close the show.
